LAUNCHING SEPTEMBER 2025 IN FORT ST JOHN Broken Spanish is a stylish, Mexican inspired restaurant located in the heart of Fort St John. Guests can experience a variety of exciting dishes and cocktails inspired by Mexican flavours and traditions. This intimate and lively new restaurant is looking someone who is passionate about hospitality, food and beverage to join our team. If you enjoy, Mexican inspired food and cocktails, and creating a wow experience for guests we would love to speak with you. About You You’re a stylish and outgoing individual with a charismatic, yet approachable personality. Passionate about hospitality, with extensive experience in the industry, and bringing with them a fundamental knowledge of spirits, wine and beer as well as strong culinary understanding. First and foremost, you put guest needs above all else and strive for service excellence in all areas of the business. You're well suited to a hands-on position that requires, leadership experience, a strong ability to communicate objectives in ways that promote collaboration when implementing systems and managing profitability. Your Role You will be part of an extraordinary and exciting launch, heavily involved many aspects of a new store opening; including building a team from the ground up and implementing a unique set of systems and procedures while working closely with Broken Spanish ownership to bring this concept to life. The role will be involved in day-to-day restaurant operations management and administration. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Overseeing daily restaurant operations and reporting of KPI’s Sales forecasting and implementation of strategies for growth Fiscal responsibility and cost management, including annual budgeting and monthly P&L review Scheduling of managers and hourly employees Promote the brand through social media platforms, responding to on-line reviews, active community presence and encouraging guest engagement Hiring, training, development, as well as disciplinary action including termination of employees Evaluating productivity and performance of all aspects of operations, always seeking opportunities for improvement Menu development for culinary and bar Maintain a positive culture of diversity and inclusivity through a high level of engagement Monitor and manage weekly food and beverage inventories including implementation of cost control measures and action plans and reporting on results Follow up on large party reservations and event bookings Collaborate with the Chef to ensure consistency in food quality, preparation and availability of menu items or ingredients Maintain positive relations, restaurant suppliers, contractors and vendors Maintain Health & Safety requirements, perform or schedule routine repair and maintenance, identify areas for improvements and implement daily systems and procedures as required Lead weekly management meetings to communicate sales, F&B costs, forecast, budgets, upcoming events, HR needs, and action plans Job Requirements Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a general manager within a medium to high volume casual upscale restaurant environment Experience in new restaurant openings an asset Proficient computer skills including but not limited to: POS, inventory software, excel and word Excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills Smart Serve, WHMIS, Health & Safety, & Food Safe Certified Must be able to carry and lift items weighing 40lbs, must be able to stoop and bend Must be able to stand and move for extended periods of time to continuously perform essential job functions Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs Job Type: Full-time Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
