Work site environment: Noisy, Dusty Work setting: Construction, Various locations, Renovations, Commercial, Millwork/pre-fab shopwork, Residential Sites Responsibilities & Tasks Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials Prepare tenders and quotations Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites Survey building locations and levels Supervise other workers Estimate costs and materials Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments Supervision: 3-4 people Experience and specialization Equipment and machinery experience Hand tools Additional information Transportation/travel information Public transportation is available Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Tight deadlines, Work with minimal supervision Personal suitability: Accurate, Client focus, Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication, Judgement, Reliability, Team player, Values and ethics, Punctuality Benefits: Other benefits, On-site recreation and activities, Parking available Who can apply to this job?
