THE COMPANY At Anthratech Western Inc. (AWI) we provide water treatment solutions for industrial and municipal water and wastewater treatment plants in Canada, the United States and select international markets. AWI is privately owned, with our head office and research and development facility located in Calgary, Alberta. THE POSITION AWI’s Junior Technical Writer is responsible for technical document writing, copyediting and proofreading for all departments to ensure internal and external communications meet AWI standards. They work closely with AWI’s Senior Technical Writer and other internal subject matter experts (SMEs), including the Projects and Technical Services Teams. Areas of focus include: writing, formatting, compiling and producing electronic and hardcopy documentation document control and maintenance of filing systems collating and organizing site photos and documentation, including QC checklists, forms, etc. assisting in company knowledge management efforts assisting Project Managers with general documentation and administrative requirements Requirements Qualifications: Relevant degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary educational institution. Experience in a construction and/or project based environment (including submittal packages) is a very strong asset. Bilingualism (English/French) is highly valuable in this role. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with graphic illustrations and video editing software is an asset. Personal and Professional Skills: Exceptional technical writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner. A high level of accuracy and quality control with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to learn and interpret technical information. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to edit the work of coworkers in a respectful manner. Flexible and open to changing priorities to meet project demands. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders across departments. Hours of Work: Core office hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is an on-premises role, with the potential for a hybrid work model Other: Candidates considered for this position must pass AWI’s background check and screening process.
