Circle Cat Residency Program Volunteer/Trainee (Residency Program Volunteer/Trainee)
North America The Circle Cat Residency Program is a volunteer internship initiative launched by Circle Cat, a 501c3 nonprofit organization based in New York State, USA, dedicated to helping more Chinese-speaking women enter the technology industry. You will join Circle Cat as a volunteer trainee and complete nonprofit projects under the guidance of mentors (employees from major tech companies or researchers/graduates from renowned universities). China The Circle Cat Residency Program Internship is a volunteer public welfare internship program launched by Zhaoqing Circle Cat Technology Co., Ltd. You will join Circle Cat as an intern (Volunteer trainee) and complete either nonprofit or commercial projects under the guidance of mentors (Circle Cat employees or tech company employees). Requirements North America Support Circle Cat's mission (support Women in tech); Possess basic professional knowledge; Fluent in Chinese; Interested in entering the tech industry; Able to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per week (minimum OPT requirement); Willing to collaborate with mentors on nonprofit projects; Located within the GMT-4 to GMT-7 time zones. China Support Circle Cat's mission (support Women in tech); Complete all course content provided by Circle Cat; Proficient in Python and Java, with understanding of data structures and algorithms; Interested in entering the tech industry; Project interns may work remotely; all others must work on-site. Upon acceptance, you will become a project intern. The internship lasts up to 3 months. If performance is satisfactory after 3 months, you may transition to a full-time intern. Full-time interns must work at our office; full-time interns are expected to become full-time employees within 6 months (maximum). Failure to meet the professional standards of a full-time employee will result in termination. Full-time employees are expected to perform at the level of standard industry engineers. You must demonstrate genuine support for Women in tech: past concrete actions supporting Women in tech will be part of the hiring evaluation. 5. Which major tech companies are referred to? Our volunteers' company policies prohibit us from disclosing their employers, but you can assume one or more from FLAG/FAANG. 6. Is the program remote? Yes, the program is remote. China Project internships are unpaid. No benefits provided. Full-time interns are paid and will receive the following benefits: Monthly salary of 4,500 RMB; Statutory five insurances (including personal portion, fully covered by the company); Employee dormitory; All national statutory holidays in the People's Republic of China; Lunch on workdays; Five-day workweek; Sick leave as needed.
