Location: 4600 Rue Hickmore, Montreal, H4T 1K2 Work arrangement: Hybrid - 4 days on site, 1 day remote (flexible) About the position: The Material Planner, reporting to the Category Manager, plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient material procurement and inventory management. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Goodfood Market’s supply chain operations by optimizing stock levels while maintaining profitability and quality. Responsibilities: Material Planning: Develop and execute material requirement plans based on production schedules and inventory levels. Monitor raw material availability to prevent production disruptions. Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production needs while minimizing excess inventory and storage costs. Implement inventory control measures to avoid shortages or overages. Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and timely delivery of materials. Order Placement and Tracking: Generate, track, and manage orders to ensure on-time delivery and promptly resolve any issues or delays. Collaboration with Production & Logistics Teams: Communicate potential material shortages or issues that could affect production timelines and scheduled pickups. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in material planning. Support Just-in-Time and cost reduction initiatives. Data Analysis: Review inventory metrics to optimize material flow and safety stock levels. Use data analysis tools to evaluate key performance indicators related to material planning. Compliance and Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to material availability and procurement. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to resolve non-conformities and material defects. Work with suppliers to address these issues promptly. Requirements: Degree in business, logistics, inventory management, or a related field. Proven experience in material planning, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the food industry. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and organizational skills to anticipate and mitigate supply chain issues. High attention to detail with the ability to track and manage multiple materials and schedules simultaneously. Team-oriented mindset fostering a collaborative work environment with cross-functional teams. Comfortable in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Analytical aptitude with a data-driven decision-making approach. Self-motivated and responsible. Bilingualism (English and French).
