Stage 3 specializes in high quality solids control equipment designed for mud systems to effectively manage solids, reducing costs for the customer and providing limited or zero discharge solutions as necessary. Additionally, Stage 3 uses a team of Solids Control Field Technicians, field supervisors, engineers and scientists to make intelligent and informed recommendations on how to best manage your job for efficiency and cost savings. While our business has expanded, our mission remains to provide superior service and performance through: Emphasis on Safety Teamwork Technology innovation Operational integrity Under general direction from and reporting to the Field Leader(s), the Solids Control Technician is responsible for overseeing mechanical processes which are used to provide enhanced drilling operations and recycled drilling fluid through closed loop and other mud systems. You will receive on the job training, on a variety of our specialized Stage 3 equipment. You will work an average 12 hour shift, on a rotational schedule, in the "back yard" of various drilling rigs, or work on various environmental projects around Canada. Our Shallow Utility group is currently looking to add Gas Fuser to our growing team, based in Edmonton, AB. Reporting to Foeman, we are seekeing elf-motivated team player who is willing to work as part of a dynamic team providing crucial support to Valard’s projects. The Gas Fuser is responsible for overseeing and executing the installation of natural gas pipelines in new residential subdivisions as part of 4-party shallow utilities. This role ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and company policies. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and quality. Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborate daily with the Site Foreman to plan work schedules, assign tasks, and ensure proper equipment availability. Perform mainline fusions and connections with precision and adherence to industry standards. Read and interpret gas construction drawings to ensure accurate implementation. Install service tees, fittings, and tracer wire connections as required. Coordinate material orders with the natural gas utility to ensure timely availability. Conduct pressure testing on main lines and submit necessary documentation. Complete live gas tie-ins safely and effectively. Liaise with utility site inspectors to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Maintain all gas equipment, ensuring proper calibration and adherence to safety regulations. Work alongside crew members as needed to support overall project completion. Foster strong relationships with utility site representatives to streamline operations. Mentor and train new employees, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. Take accountability for job performance, efficiency, and project outcomes. Perform additional tasks as assigned by leadership. Requirements Minimum two years of experience in the shallow utility industry, including at least one year of gas fusing experience. Candidates must have or have had an ATCO Gas Fusion ticket and be able to get it again. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset. Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, with a positive and professional attitude. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
