Our Hamilton Kent ,Toronto Plant is seeking a Night Shift Production Supervisor. The shifts are from Sunday to Thursday nightshift, from 11 pm to 7 am.  This position is responsible for ensuring fabrication, Injection and compression molded parts are of the highest quality while using the most cost effective methods to maximize productivity outputs.  Directly responsible for the supervision of fabrication, Injection and compression molding while verifying procedures, and monitoring costs and assisting Maintenance Manager with purchasing spares. Leads and coordinates production activities directed at continuous improvement.  These activities are to be conducted while ensuring and maximizing safety, product quality, production output, housekeeping and cost control to achieve plant goals.  Requirements Principle Responsibilities •    Manages staff activities to ensure that the products manufactured daily meet quality and budget as set by the daily schedule. •    Identifies performance and quality issues and formulates action plans to rectify problems as variances occur. •    Provides performance measures, which will enable management to identify performance and downtime issues. Relay any significant change or variance to plant management. •    Exchange information with the current lead hands in order to facilitate optimized production performance and to review safety or quality concerns. •    Actively monitors daily production schedule for planning the labour, raw material resources and machine utilization for the fabrication and molding areas. •    Review with Plant Manager and other Supervisor’s the previous day’s performance, identify variances, and determine appropriate action as well as ensuring that the scheduled goals have been met and projected goals will be maintained. •    Ensures customer satisfaction through schedule attainment. •    Implements and ensures staff adheres to plant health, safety and environmental procedures at all times to secure a safe and efficient workplace.  •    Focused on planning smooth operation of the department by ensuring all molding and fabrication requirements are identified at least three days in advance. •    Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to. •    Ensures employees are held accountable and support departments are utilized efficiently and harmoniously. •    Responsible for the fabrication, extrusion and molding departments whilst optimizing the usage of labour and ensuring priorities are followed.  •    Conduct and maintain systematic surveys in compliance with ISMS Element 23.0 Job Task Analysis. Participate in the creation and implementation of action plans. •    Develops and implements Rules and Work Instructions as identified through JTA’s, Accident Investigations and Risk Assessments in compliance with ISMS Elements 23.0 Job Task Analysis and 31.0 Work Instructions. •    Work in conjunction with Production employees on Machinery/Equipment/Tooling improvements which would enhance Safety and Productivity. •    Conducts, and assists others in accident/incident investigations and quality investigations to determine accident/incident cause and cause of quality defects. (Reference ISMS 11.0 and ISO Quality Management System.) •    Assigns direct reports to meet or better daily planned production schedule. Monitors progress during shift and takes corrective action.  Instructs direct reports in most efficient use of machines and tools. Contributes to plant cost reduction effort. •    Ensure that the skill level of all lead hands meets or exceeds the service needs of the company. Required Skills/Qualifications •    Completion of College or University is preferred  •    5+ years of supervisory/management experience in a related industry is required. •    Knowledge of fabrication, extrusion, injection and compression molding -experience in a rubber manufacturing environment is preferred. •    Must be able to use or can be trained on various types of measuring tools related to our gasket manufacturing process. •    Excellent leadership, problem solving and trouble shooting skills. •    Mechanical abilities/aptitude •    Self-motivated and results driven •    Trouble-shooting, and problem solving skills  •    Effective communicator  •    Knowledge of computers - Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Outlook
