ShareFinisher Farm Manager position: Location –Sydney, MB area Full-time – 40 hours per week Salary range - $54,000 to $65,000 The compensation package includes a production bonus, benefits plan and pension plan. Porcherie Lac du Onze Ltee (PLDO), based in Notre Dame de Lourdes, in south-central Manitoba, is currently searching to fill the position of “Finisher Farm Manager” for its Sidney Finisher Farm site. The Sidney Finisher Farm is a 8,200 space finisher farm located near Sydney, Manitoba. PLDO also owns another 5000 sows, including in-house multiplication, 17,000 nursery spaces, 35,000 finisher spaces, a feed mill, and feed and livestock transportation. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent problem-solving skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure while managing multiple tasks. Weekend and holiday work are required on a rotational basis. A valid driver’s licence and a vehicle are required to get to and from work. A minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial hog production is required. Management experience is not required but is considered an asset. The ability to communicate in English is also a requirement. The finisher farm manager is responsible for managing and directing the daily operations of the entire finisher site. Duties include: Managing the health and welfare of all animals at the farm, monitoring and maintaining production targets, organizing staff schedules to meet workloads, maintaining a positive work environment for all employees, training new and existing employees, maintaining and enforcing all biosecurity policies, managing the repair and maintenance of farm equipment and working with the production manager to find creative solutions to improve productivity and employee experience.
