Your team’s dynamic: As part of the Edge Platform team, you will collaborate closely with other team members to achieve the group's objectives. The team is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting a variety of Edge Platform appliances across multiple product lines. As the Performance Test Specialist, you will be responsible for the testing, automation, and benchmarking of these devices with the mandate of determining their maximum performance capabilities across various scenarios of workloads and use cases. Your day at a glance: Build and maintain a scalable test environment including servers, workstations, simulators, and monitoring stations Design and execute test cases with the objective of benchmarking IP video transmission including recording and decoding Develop and maintain automation test scripts Generate concise and detailed reports and dashboards with actionable results (i.e. maximum number of video streams, resolutions, codecs, fps, etc...) Collaborate with internal/external teams to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend optimizations Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the test environment Document test methodology, findings, and relevant data What makes you a great fit: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Proven experience with Windows and Linux operating systems, including system administration and performance tuning Strong understanding of hardware components (e.g., CPUs, GPUs, storage, memory) and their impact on system performance In-depth knowledge of IP networking technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, bandwidth management) Proficient in PowerShell scripting Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and present them effectively Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Must be functional in English and French An asset if you have: Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies Familiarity with IP video surveillance systems, video codecs, or streaming technologies Familiarity with additional scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) Understanding of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and their impact on performance Let’s talk perks!
