Fengate is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Real Estate financial reporting team.  Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the successful candidate will work closely with others in the financial reporting team as well as with wider groups of the Real Estate business segment including Development, Investment and FP&A teams.  The successful candidate will lead and support the financial reporting process for a variety of funds and projects focused on residential and commercial development.   Key Responsibilities Include: Financial reporting: Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements with high attention to detail on complex note disclosures Maintain the books and records for various funds and partnerships, including ownership over tracking of capital subscriptions and commitments, as well as the utilization of debt facilities Run the day-to-day finance operations of various investments through capital call notices, banking compliance, distributions, and intercompany transfers with a keen sense of detail and understanding of cashflow Maintain the workbooks for partnership expense allocations and bank reconciliations across various funds and partnerships Review vendor invoices for payment in a timely manner and assist with cash management of operating and facility accounts Facilitate the partnership, corporate and trust tax returns on an annual basis Understand sources and uses of cash as it pertains to equity deployed, partner equity and debt Understand the impacts of capital and distribution assumption changes to fund returns, reporting note disclosures and impact to investors and stakeholders Business partnering: Work closely with other business groups, including Developments, Investments, Debt Strategy, FP&A and Legal teams to understand and reflect business activities into financial reporting implications Foster strong working relationships across the businesses, and work proactively to identify opportunities for finance to act as a strategic business partner Identify and implement continuous process improvements across different areas of scope Ad hoc projects and support as required   Requirements Preferred Qualifications and Skill set: Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or commerce. A recognized professional accounting designation (CPA) 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in accounting and/or auditing function reporting in IFRS or ASPE, with consolidated financial statements and note disclosures Experience working in asset management, real estate, private equity or development industries is an asset Prior experience with fund reporting or limited partnerships is an asset Strong understanding of key performance metrics (IRR, ROIC, etc) as relevant to the real estate industry Strong customer focus with excellent relationship building and a collaborative working style Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization Ability to handle multiple competing deliverables, with accurate/timely delivery under tight timelines Experience with Yardi is an asset CORE COMPETENCIES Being Authentic –Inspiring trust and being courageous.
