FundThrough is looking for a smart, passionate, resourceful Sr. Accountant, Team Lead to join us on our mission to help business owners end the “wait” associated with payment terms. You will report to our controller and have the opportunity to work closely with our co-founders.  About the company: FundThrough is a leading fintech company accelerating cash flow and enabling growth for small and medium-sized businesses that sell to large customers and wait to get paid. Based in Toronto and operating across North America, FundThrough’s AI-powered invoice funding platform gives B2B businesses fast, customized funding offers to gettheir invoices paid in a few days – rather than a few months – and get quick access to cash they’ve already earned. Responsibilities: Manage and develop junior team members (currently 3), including coaching, providing support and overseeing their work in bank reconciliations and accounts payable Lead the month-end close process in a timely manner, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, foreign exchange, transfer pricing, and preparing consolidated financial statements Serve as the point person for FundThrough’s external audit and coordinates efforts within FundThrough to provide the necessary documentation and support to the auditors Play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of the company and assist the controller with cash flow management Collaborate with the strategic finance team to support external reporting Maintain the internal accounting policies and processes for adherence to applicable accounting standards with a focus on accuracy and efficiency Assist with FundThrough's compliance reporting in the USA and Canada Work with the controller, co-founders & strategic finance on ad hoc projects as needed Our ideal fit: Passion for our mission of empowering small businesses to thrive A candidate who is looking to take the next step in their career by growing their responsibilities and helping take the finance team to the next level Thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working in a team and fostering a positive work environment Drives process improvements and utilizes automation Curious, not afraid to ask questions, and problem-solver An exceptional communicator with strong integrity Likes to take initiative and has a ‘can-do’ attitude Works well under pressure to meet deadlines Requirements 2+ years experience managing teams (2-5 people) 4+ years of experience in an accounting position CPA designation (or wrote Fall 2024 CFE) Intermediate to advanced Google Sheet + Excel skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Familiarity with databases and queries (using SQL) and Periscope Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or other ERP systems is an asset Highly organized and reliable, with an eye for detail Benefits Opportunity to leave your mark on a growing startup An incredibly diverse team of brilliant minds from all over the world Competitive compensation, including stock options Health benefits Family-friendly policies Flexible work-from-home policy A fully stocked kitchen, birthday treats, and a lunch of your choice every week (one of our values is Fun & Food!) Ensure that T2 tax filings are completed accurately and submitted within required deadlines to avoid penalties and interest Prepare and file HST/GST returns, ensuring compliance with current tax legislation and updating the business on relevant changes. Address any tax-related queries from internal teams, external auditors, or government bodies. Participate in audits and assist with documentation and information requests. Assist with day-to-day accounting activities including invoice entry, bank reconciliation, and month-end closing procedures. Perform monthly accounting functions, including but not limited to GST/HST filings, and other bookkeeping responsibilities. Review audit findings, assess potential tax implications, and work to resolve discrepancies or issues raised by the CRA. Coordinate with tax professionals and external advisors to ensure compliance with CRA regulations and mitigate any potential risks. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance/ CPA Candidate 3+ years of related job experience in corporate taxation, with a focus on T2 tax returns and compliance. Experience in Tax, tax auditing and with online tax research tools, materials. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the aptitude to learn new software quickly. Previous experience with QuickBooks and Sage 300 will be an asset. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, MS Outlook. Ability to process large volume of invoices and payments, while prioritizing competing tasks. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines with competing and shifting priorities. Benefits Competitive Salary. Healthcare Benefit Package.
