Description

Porta is looking for a driven Sanitation Team Lead, who is responsible for overseeing the cleaning and sanitation of all food contact areas in compliance with the facility's HACCP plan, GMP standards, and CFIA regulations. This role ensures that Ready-to-Eat (RTE) and Not-Ready-to-Eat (NRTE) areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety. The Sanitation Lead also ensures adherence to Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and contributes to their development and improvement. Requirements Sanitation Program Management: Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed according to the facility's sanitation program, including food contact surfaces, equipment, and production areas. Maintain compliance with HACCP, GMP, and CFIA regulations during cleaning and sanitation processes. Oversee sanitation activities in both RTE and NRTE areas, ensuring separation and adherence to cross-contamination controls. SSOP Compliance and Development: Ensure all sanitation activities strictly follow the established Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs). Conduct routine reviews of SSOPs to verify they align with regulatory requirements and operational needs. Collaborate with the Shift Manager to identify gaps or areas for improvement in SSOPs and assist in their development or revision. Train team members on SSOPs, ensuring understanding and consistent application. Team Leadership: Lead and supervise the sanitation team during cleaning shifts. Provide training and mentorship on proper cleaning techniques, chemical usage, and food safety practices. Assign tasks and monitor team performance to ensure efficiency and thoroughness. Documentation and Reporting: Complete and verify sanitation logs, ensuring all documentation aligns with HACCP and CFIA requirements. Conduct pre-operational inspections of cleaned equipment and areas, addressing deficiencies promptly. Report sanitation issues or non-compliance to the Shift Manager. Chemical and Equipment Management: Oversee the correct use and storage of cleaning chemicals, ensuring concentrations meet program specifications. Conduct routine checks on sanitation tools and equipment, reporting maintenance needs. Audits and Continuous Improvement: Participate in internal and external audits related to sanitation. Recommend improvements to sanitation procedures and practices to enhance food safety and operational efficiency. Health and Safety: Ensure all sanitation activities comply with workplace safety policies. Identify and mitigate risks associated with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and procedures. Requirements Able to work 6PM-2AM and cover alternative shifts, as needed. Strong organizational and leadership abilities. Attention to detail with a focus on food safety and cleanliness. Effective communication and team management skills. Proficiency in record-keeping and documentation. Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training in food safety or sanitation is preferred. Minimum of 2 years in a food manufacturing sanitation role, with leadership experience preferred. Knowledge of HACCP principles, GMP requirements, CFIA regulations, and SSOPs. Knowledge of cleaning techniques and chemical applications specific to food manufacturing environments.
