Duties Supervise and monitor the safety of children in your care at all times. Plan and implement educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the childcare area to ensure a safe play environment. Collaborate with other childcare staff to develop programs that meet the needs of all children. Skills Experience working with children in various settings, particularly in a classroom or caregiving environment. Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices. Ability to educate children through engaging activities tailored to their developmental stages. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with children, parents, and colleagues. Patience and understanding when working with children, especially those with disabilities. Creativity in developing fun and educational activities that stimulate learning. As a valued member of our family, you will work under our supervision to care for our children and help maintain a safe, warm, and organized home environment. Key Responsibilities: 1. Caring for our 2-year-old child: • Prepare and serve nutritious meals. • Assist with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene. • Engage in play and activities that promote cognitive and emotional development. • Provide comfort and emotional support. • Help the child develop good behavioral habits and social skills. 2. General Child Care Tasks: • Wash and care for the children’s clothes. • Organize the children’s toys and keep their rooms tidy. • Prepare meals for the children (including the 2-year-old, 11-year-old, and 17-year-old). • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for the children. 3. Job Title: School Lunch Program Supervisor Location: Riverheights School, Brandon MB Position Type: Part-Time Start Date: September 3, 2025 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:40AM – 12:40PM Pay: $25 per hour About the Role: Riverheights Parent Council is seeking a dedicated and friendly Lunch Program Supervisor to support our school's hourly lunch program. Students bring their own lunch from home. The position involves supporting and supervising classroom-based eating and outdoor lunch recess activities in a safe and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities: - Supervise students while they eat lunch in their classrooms (first half of the lunch hour), - Ensure students follow basic hygiene and safety practices during lunch, - Assist with minor clean-up as needed (e.g., wiping tables, disposing of trash), - Supervise outdoor play during the second half of the lunch hour, promoting safe and inclusive play, - Monitor student behavior and ensure adherence to school code of conduct, and - Respond appropriately to minor injuries or incidents and report concerns Lunch Program Coordinator. Qualifications: - Enjoys working with children and creating a positive atmosphere, - Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team, - Ability to supervise and engage with students in both indoor and outdoor settings, - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, - Experience working with children is an asset but not required, - Must pass background checks and Respect in School Certification as required by the school or district, and - Willing to complete Emergency First Aid Certification (or already certified).
