At March Networks, we value your hard work, creativity and your passionate desire to deliver only the best to our customers, partners and each other.\r\n \r\n \r\nPurpose of Position \r\n \r\n \r\n• Responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Network Operations Centre (NOC) such as managing \r\nwork-load, workflow and deliverables. \r\n• Provides leadership and development in the NOC for troubleshooting methodology, organized \r\nthought processes, use of diagnostic tools and diligence in problem resolution. \r\n• Interfaces with appropriate members of cross-functional teams to escalate customer issues and \r\nprovides recommendations for resolution \r\n• Develops, maintains and enhances systems, methods and procedures to identify and improve \r\noperating efficiency and accommodate changing business requirements. \r\n• Manages the scheduling of Hosted Server Software Releases and Emergency Patches, where applicable. \r\n• Planning and developing NOC team recruitment and liaising with HR team \r\n• Ensures the NOC team remains trained on current and new products, solutions, services. \r\n• Analyzes system data for potential issues and/or trends. \r\n• Provides System status reports (Dashboard). \r\n• Manages customer expectations. \r\n• Monitors and provides reports on Tier 1 and Tier 2 team performances \r\n \r\n \r\nDuties and Responsibilities \r\n• Responsible for the team overseeing the monitoring of customer’s March Network products using hardware, software, and critical thinking, to ensure rapid discovery and resolution of “managed” asset problems. \r\n• Provides analysis and reports of each Managed Services Customers, the services provided, and assets managed. Develops new reports as necessary to support new department initiatives. \r\n• Manages the Network Operations Centre's email and ticket queue, owning the ticket until resolved to \r\ncustomer's satisfaction. \r\n• Participates in the identification, review and implementation of new service offerings to new and \r\nexisting customers. \r\n• Improves Network Operations Centre processes for Tier 1 and 2 team, identifies and implements cost savings opportunities where applicable. \r\n• Provides technical guidance and support to NOC team members. \r\n• Ensures that each NOC specialist receives the appropriate product and systems training to be able to excel at their job. Develops new reports as necessary to support new department initiatives. • Manages the Network Operations Centre's email and ticket queue, owning the ticket until resolved to customer's satisfaction. • Participates in the identification, review and implementation of new service offerings to new and existing customers. • Improves Network Operations Centre processes for Tier 1 and 2 team, identifies and implements cost savings opportunities where applicable. • Provides technical guidance and support to NOC team members. • Ensures that each NOC specialist receives the appropriate product and systems training to be able to excel at their job. Principal Data Engineers are drivers within our fast-paced delivery teams, implementing Quantexa’s innovative technology for an ever-expanding list of domains including banking, insurance, government, healthcare. What you’ll be doing. You will lead, support, and mentor a team of junior data engineers within an agile framework. You set medium term strategy for the technical delivery of delivery projects, seeking to anticipate challenges, risks and issues  You operate with a high level of autonomy, seeking guidance and support from others as required  Write defensive, fault tolerant and efficient code for production level data processing systems. You are an accomplished technical lead with a track record of delivering complex or mission critical projects, with at least eight years of industry experience in a data engineering role or engineering equivalent, and at least ​five years of​ experience acting in a lead role within a data or software engineering team across a range of projects.  Proficiency in Scala, Java, Python, or a programming language associated with data engineering. Our primary language is Scala, but don’t worry if that’s not currently your strongest language, we believe that strong engineering principles are universal and transferrable. You’ll have expertise building and deploying production level data processing batch systems maintained by application support teams. Importantly you’ll share an appreciation of what makes a high quality, operationally stable system and how to streamline all areas of development, release, and operations to achieve this. Experience with a variety of modern development tooling (e.g. Git, Gradle, Nexus) and technologies supporting automation and DevOps (e.g. Jenkins, Docker and a little bit of good old Bash scripting). You’ll be familiar with developing within a version-controlled process that regularly makes use of these tools and technologies.
