WOODEN CARVED ELEPHANT “ BOOK-ENDS “ • Together they measure 20” inches in length and stand 8 ½” inches high. Individually each Elephant is hand carved from a single block of hardwood. The book style bases and end dividers are also made from hard wood and shaped like books The Elephant carvings are textured and have been hand rubbed creating a very eye appealing patina. Added are Ivory tusks ,Ivory eyes, and Ivory toe nails. The carvings are very lifelike in appearance and the textured detailing is a compliment to the carvers eye for detail. Not only pleasing to the eye, but functional as well. Great furnishing for the home or office décor. I consider them antique collectables. • I picked up these book ends in the 1970’s at a craft show in Toronto. • Both in good condition. One Ivory tusk went missing and was replaced with carved from wood. • Can be seen in the Hawkestone area.
