POSITION OVERVIEW: The Laborer is responsible for performing various physical tasks to support the construction of utility-scale renewable energy projects. This includes site preparation, material handling, and assisting skilled tradespeople. The Laborer works closely with site supervisors, engineers, and equipment operators to ensure project timelines and safety standards are met. Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Site Work & Material Handling Perform site preparation tasks including clearing debris, digging trenches, and setting up temporary structures. Handle and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment. Assist skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, and equipment operators. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the project site. Safety & Compliance Adhere to Quanta’s Capacity Program, all company and site-specific safety protocols and procedures. Participate in daily safety briefings and report any hazards or incidents immediately. Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is used correctly and consistently. Team Collaboration & Communication Work closely with site supervisors, foremen, engineers, and equipment operators to coordinate tasks and maintain workflow. Communicate effectively to ensure alignment of project goals and timelines. Support other team members as needed to meet project objectives. SKILLS: Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor. Basic understanding of construction tools and equipment. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Strong commitment to safety and quality. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in construction or manual labour is preferred. Experience working on renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects is an asset. WORKING CONDITIONS: This is a field-based position requiring work in varying weather conditions and terrain. Travel to project sites across Canada is required. Extended hours and weekend work may be necessary based on project demands. Potential Living Out Allowance (LOA) allowance or temporary camp available.
