I am a singer-songwriter from Ottawa, Ontario. In my teaching, I specialize in voice, guitar, ukulele, hand drums, songwriting, digital recording, ear training, and music theory, working with students of all ages and abilities, including adults, adolescents, and children with special needs. I’m dedicated to creating an engaging, inclusive, and accessible learning environment with programs tailored to each student’s unique abilities, stylistic preferences, and musical goals. I believe everyone has an innate musical talent, and my mission is to help students discover and nurture their abilities to express themselves artistically. With a Bachelor of Music, a Master’s in Music and Culture, and a PhD in Cultural Mediations from Carleton University, my academic journey has been deeply intertwined with my passion for music. I’ve worked as a private music instructor for six years, and for the past seven years, I’ve served as a teaching assistant in Carleton University’s Music department. I have been active in the Ottawa music scene for more than twenty years, releasing several independent albums and touring across North America. My music has brought me to stages at Canadian Music Week in Toronto, South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, and Ottawa Bluesfest. Please reach out to book a free introductory lesson!
