Hi, I am offering to teach students (preferably grades 9 to 12 and university) in maths/calculus, physics, chemistry, biology and statistics. I have a bachelor (honours) majoring in theoretical physics (with minors in mathematics and statistics) as well as a bachelor in applied Biotechnology with distinction (with concentrations in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, microbiology, immunology, genetic engineering, biophysics, organic and inorganic chemistry, bioinformatics and biostatistics among others). Other studies: MSc physics, MSc infectious diseases. I teach math using an intuition-based no-memorisation method, which allows students to rediscover math as an interconnection, rectification, reinforcement as well as extension of their pre-existing intuitive experiences about the real world: students can learn math for the fun of it and in the process train their minds how to think. My approach to science teaching is intuition-based in-depth foundation building through promotion of: verbo-linguistic intellection; conceptual clarity; attitudinal change; inspired engagement and taking responsibility; progressive integration of complexities into higher order comprehension; critical thinking; dialectical questioning and logico-mathematical reasoning. I believe that both teaching and learning are creative processes that need to be constantly improved by applying novel concepts and adapting new techniques in cooperation between students, teachers, parents and institutions: teaching and learning is not one size-fits-all. Above all, a teacher is a constant learner. In addition to a broad knowledge across the sciences, I have fluency in English, French, Bengali, Hindi, Arabic and Urdu together with good reading comprehension in Spanish, Persian and Italian. Apart from teaching for many years in science subjects at grade school and university levels, I have many years of experience in tutoring English as a second language. I also have an excellent mastery of history in general and the history of science in particular. Mathematics and linguistics are key areas of my passion.
