THE OPPORTUNITY: The Wood Machine Operator is responsible for operating wood machines such as Biesse and Homag edgebanders, CNC drill centers, and saws in accordance with operating procedures and safety Standards. The Wood Machine Operator is required to follow MO's (manufacturing orders), perform routine maintenance, and record data accordingly. Requirements Manufacturing experience is considered an asset. Basic math skills required. Must be able to understand verbal and written work instructions, which are typically routine, as accuracy and attention to detail is necessary. Ability to work independently or as a part of a team. Ability to understand and follow established personal safety, security, and environmental practices. Is knowledgeable of, and compliant with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Occupation Health and Safety Act (OSHA). Ability to lift materials up to 50 pounds and to carry, move, manipulate and/or position them and to move, bend, twist or maintaining awkward body positions while performing work. Posesses good hand and eye co-ordination and muscular control sufficient to operate tools or equipment and to see closely and/or listen intently in order to achieve very detailed results and/or detect flaws or errors. POSITION DESCRIPTION Reporting to the President, the Production Manager plays five key roles: Production Planning & Operations Build and maintain daily and weekly production schedules using the NetSuite system. Adjust critical process parameters to meet target yield, texture, and potency. Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all production processes.
