Hair Styling Assistant

Job Title: Hair Styling Assistant Location: Markham Job Type: [Full-Time/Part-Time] Reports To: Lead Stylist / Salon Manager Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Hair Styling Assistant to support our stylists and ensure smooth daily operations at the salon. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about the beauty industry who is looking to gain hands-on experience and grow their skills in a professional, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: • Greet and prepare clients for their appointments • Shampoo, condition, and rinse hair as directed by the stylist • Assist with blow-drying, sectioning, and other prep tasks • Maintain cleanliness and organization of styling stations and salon areas • Sanitize tools, brushes, and equipment between clients • Restock products and supplies as needed • Perform basic administrative duties (e.g. booking appointments, confirming schedules) • Provide excellent customer service and ensure client comfort • Learn and stay current with salon procedures, techniques, and product knowledge Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent • Enrolled in or completed a cosmetology program (preferred but not required) • Strong interest in hair styling and the beauty industry • Excellent communication and customer service skills • Punctual, reliable, and detail-oriented • Able to work well in a team and take direction from lead stylists Physical Requirements: • Able to stand for long periods • Comfortable with light lifting and repetitive hand movements Why Join Us? • Supportive team environment • Opportunities for mentorship and professional development • Exposure to a wide range of hair types, styles, and services • Potential for growth into a junior stylist or other roles
