Description

Position Summary: I am looking for a compassionate and reliable respite worker with a background in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) to support an 8-year-old autistic child. The ideal candidate will spend a few structured hours each day engaging child in developmentally appropriate activities, helping her stay regulated, and taking her out for walks or to nearby parks, while supporting her in a calm and positive manner. Responsibilities: Engage child in structured and free-play activities based on the interests Implement simple ABA-based strategies to support communication, transitions, and routines Provide consistent emotional support and help manage meltdowns or sensory needs Accompany child on short community outings (e.g., park visits) Encourage and model appropriate social and life skills Follow child’s routine and therapeutic recommendations from parents Qualifications: Experience working with children with autism, preferably in a home or therapeutic setting Training or background in ABA principles Fluent in English Ability to remain calm, patient, and supportive during behavioral or emotional episodes Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle for outings CPR/First Aid certification (preferred) Vulnerable sector check (required) To Apply: Please send your resume and a brief statement of interest to prachi.rv48@gmail.com
