Four years ago, I set an important precedent by leaving a long-term care facility. I am a senior network engineer in computer science. I am an entrepreneur aiming to create a new personalized service model for people with disabilities so they can live outside such institutions. I help others leave institutional settings. I am looking for discreet, reliable and reserved assistants who genuinely want to support me in my daily life. I live near Galeries Charlesbourg in Quebec City. I am confident, responsible, somewhat intellectual and bilingual. I enjoy all kinds of music. My interests are very varied. I am direct and very open-minded; I follow a vegan diet, enjoy movies/TV shows, video games, and believe in personal growth. I am seeking a responsible, organized, cautious and meticulous person who respects my home and privacy. This is a full position. I have a team of 7 full-time, part-time and relief assistants. Shifts include day, evening, night and weekends. At night, my assistants can sleep. This ensures me 24/7 service. I am flexible with schedules and expect the same flexibility from my assistants. This job suits everyone, but if you have experience, I am particularly looking for people who want to work using a human-centered approach outside the healthcare system. Responsibilities and Tasks Personal care: Respiratory care, tracheostomy care, medication administration via gastrostomy, transfers using mechanical lifts, bed baths, colostomy care, maintenance of wheelchairs and artificial ventilators, and any other tasks necessary for my health, safety and comfort. Household tasks: Cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, minor repairs and maintenance, watering plants, etc. Community support: Accompanying me during travels using public transportation or my adapted vehicle, walking with me. You may be asked to provide care and support services when I travel for work or leisure. Requirements Valid driver's license (to drive my adapted vehicle) Punctual and reliable Comfortable providing personal care Experience preferred but not required No specific training required, you will be trained Ability to follow verbal instructions Good sense of humor Fast learner focused on details Good communication skills Good references
