Description

We are willing to train the right individual regarding the care and support of Shayne Mills. We are also open to bringing a healthcare support worker or aide into this position. Shayne is a 55 year old man who is paraplegic and requires assistance with meal preparation, showering / hygiene, social engagement etc. The right person will be required to familiarize themselves with electric lifts and medication / health supplement distribution. Shayne sleeps 12 hours per night and does not require night time support. Shayne is able to operate / manage his computer, cell phone, electric wheel chair and the consumption of meals as well as the use of a tooth brush. He is a delightful man who is a pleasure to work with. This position is a 24 hour sleep over position. There is a clean, private bedroom available and the position pays $314.00 / day. Shayne has a 2 bedroom townhouse in a quiet area near Royal Roads University. Shifts start at 4 pm. Easy bus access from Victoria city on the #95 which runs every 15 minutes. Key Responsibilities, as required/applicable: • Maintain patient files, encounter information, clinical data, and other information in a careful and confidential manner via EMR Software. • Answer inquiries in a helpful, respectful and efficient manner. • Review and process faxes electronically, including patient referrals. • Examine the health of patients to help make proper diagnoses of clinical conditions and/or follow-up care as required. • Educate, advise, and empower patients on preventive healthcare and disease prevention. • Order and interpret diagnostic tests. • Collaborate with other medical professionals. • Stay up to date with medical advancements to provide high-quality care. • Perform all other related clinical, administrative or special tasks as needed. Working Conditions & Location: • The Registered Nurse position requires availability to work on-site from Monday to Thursday from 8am-4pm (with the optional shift of 8:30am-4:30pm). This schedule excludes evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays. Additionally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on Fridays, if preferred, with the same hours. • Our clinic operates Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and remains closed on evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays. • The clinic's team currently includes Dr. Roxanne Ouellet, 2 Nurse Practitioners, a Registered Nurse, and 2 administrative support staff members. • The clinic will be located at 470 Ryan Street, Moncton, NB as of July 2025. Qualifications: • Demonstrate advanced clinical and critical thinking. • Ability to maintain a high regard for confidentiality and patient advocacy. • A self-motivated individual who can work independently and within a team environment. • Proficiency with computers, including the use of the internet, electronic medical record system, and other relevant software's. • Contribute to a culture of problem solving, collaboration, and excellence. • Demonstrate strong documentation skills with attention to detail. • Strong interpersonal skills. • Exhibit compassion and patience. • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment. • Proficiency in English and French is required. • General knowledge of the New Brunswick medical system is an asset. Experience/Education: • The applicant must have successfully completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. • The applicant must be currently registered and in good standing with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick (NANB). • Completion of a Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) training program, which includes attending a weekend conference, is required prior to starting. The cost of training will be covered by the employer.
