I am a quadriplegic and use a wheelchair. I’m looking for someone Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening from nine to 10:30 PM every week and ongoing. Need assistance going to bed. Prefer someone living in the downtown area. I live in the Byward Market. $25 per hour. It’s an employment position so not under the table. Will train. We are willing to train the right individual regarding the care and support of Shayne Mills. We are also open to bringing a healthcare support worker or aide into this position. Shayne is a 55 year old man who is paraplegic and requires assistance with meal preparation, showering / hygiene, social engagement etc. The right person will be required to familiarize themselves with electric lifts and medication / health supplement distribution. Shayne sleeps 12 hours per night and does not require night time support. Shayne is able to operate / manage his computer, cell phone, electric wheel chair and the consumption of meals as well as the use of a tooth brush. He is a delightful man who is a pleasure to work with. This position is a 24 hour sleep over position. There is a clean, private bedroom available and the position pays $314.00 / day. Shayne has a 2 bedroom townhouse in a quiet area near Royal Roads University. Shifts start at 4 pm. Easy bus access from Victoria city on the #95 which runs every 15 minutes.
