A new home daycare is opening soon in the beautiful area of Rockliffe-Smythe. The private, non-subsidized Montessori-inspired home daycare caters to children from 6 weeks old to 4 years old. We cater to our home-away-from-home academy as a Montessori nursery, a childcare facility specifically designed for babies and very young children, typically from infancy to 4 years old. Our philosophy is to provide high-quality Childcare, nourishment of the mind and body, and a keen interest in learning and books. Children should have daily opportunities to learn through play, be avid explorers, and be around people who care and listen. Our Infant, Toddler, Preschool, and Kinder Age Programs incorporate a 3-in-1 curriculum that includes left-brain (Montessori-based), right-brain (Reggio-inspired/Play-based), and Movement (physical literacy) learning. The Childcare program has adopted the national "Playing to Learn" curriculum, a dedicated Mother Goose Infant/Toddler/Preschool program, and a Montessori-inspired curriculum. Its unique blend makes the Academy a distinguished nursery with its own curricula and pedagogical principles. We offer a variety of healthy, hearty, and mostly organic food, sustainable lifestyle principles, eco-friendly Montessori-inspired materials and toys, an expansive library, early numeric and literacy skills, and dedicated toddler development and preschool programs. We strive to enhance the development of social skills and peer group interactions through daily art and sensory activities, as well as exposure to science and book clubs, all in a small-ratio family setting. We cater to our younger babies and toddlers individually, offering personalized weaning, toilet training, and stimulating preschool preparation and skills development in line with Ontario's Early Years guidelines. With the increasing need for reliable, quality care—especially for younger children—I've decided to open my own space, offering a high-quality, safe, caring, and engaging environment for families in the community. The daycare is located on the main floor of my home, filled with natural light and equipped with a fenced backyard for outdoor play. My goal is to foster curiosity, independence, and confidence in a nurturing home setting. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. My home is pet-friendly—we have a calm, friendly small Maltipoo dog, which is a non/ shedding and hypoallergenic breed. Mrs. Y. is an early childhood expert with a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences and Child Psychology, a graduate in Business and Finance (specializing in Marketing and HR), and a Montessori Preschool and Kindergarten teacher. We are filling spots for the grand opening in September and scheduling parent tours in August.
