POSITION OVERVIEW: The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment used in the construction of utility-scale renewable energy projects. This includes wiring, conduit installation, grounding equipment, troubleshooting electrical issues, and ensuring compliance with electrical codes and standards. The Electrician works closely with site supervisors, engineers, and other trades to ensure project timelines and safety standards are met. Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Electrical Installation & Maintenance Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including wiring, terminations, splicing, conduit, fixtures, and control systems. Perform electrical inspections and testing to ensure systems are functioning properly and safely. Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues and implement corrective actions. Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. Safety & Compliance Adhere to Quanta's Capacity Program, all company and site-specific safety protocols and procedures. Participate in daily safety briefings and report any hazards or incidents immediately. Ensure electrical systems are installed and maintained within equipment manufacturer guidelines and regulatory standards. Team Collaboration & Communication Work closely with site supervisors, foremen, engineers, and other trades to coordinate tasks and maintain workflow. Communicate effectively to ensure alignment of project goals and timelines. Support other team members as needed to meet project objectives. SKILLS: Strong understanding of electrical systems and equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong commitment to safety and quality. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 3 years of experience as an electrician in a construction environment. Valid electrician certifications and licenses as required by provincial regulations. Experience working on renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects is an asset. WORKING CONDITIONS: This is a field-based position requiring work in varying weather conditions and terrain. Travel to project sites across Canada is required. Extended hours and weekend work may be necessary based on project demands. Victor Energy is a powerline contractor with over 30 years experience building Alberta’s electrical infrastructure, recently acquired by Java Holdings Ltd. We are seeking experienced Journeyman / Journeywomen Powerline Technicians (PLT) with duel citizenship to support our Canadian and European projects. RESPONSIBILITIES: Erect and maintain steel, wood or concrete poles, towers, and guy wires Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground power lines and cables, insulators, conductors, lightning arrestors, switches, transformers, street lighting and other associated equipment Splice, solder and insulate conductors and related wiring to connect power distribution and transmission networks Have knowledge and expertise in the areas of construction, maintenance, and repair of both distribution and transmission power systems, coupled with the ability to follow instructions and procedures Opens and closes switches and installs grounding devices to lines and equipment. Installing and detonating implodes. Energized Stick Work Experience Completing high-tension stringing activities Instruct, mentor and train junior personnel and Apprentices in duties, safe work practices, care and use of tools and equipment in a positive respectful manner Ability to read and understand the scope of construction prints provided. The ability to work at heights on wood poles, steel towers, etc. in adverse weather conditions. Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Valid Journeyman certificate for Powerline Technician, Provincial and Red Seal Class 5 driver’s license, preference of a class 1 with airbrake endorsement. 5 years’ experience 25Kv experience is an asset KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Strength, stamina, and the use of proper lifting techniques required to work with equipment weighing in excess of 50 lbs.
