You may be assisting passengers in boarding vehicles and maneuvering wheelchairs or other accessible devices. You may be attaching securement belts and lifting portable assistive devices as needed. You will ensure the proper restraint and security of passengers, devices, and mobility aids if applicable You are providing passengers with accurate information on fares, schedules and stops. POSITION GOAL: To lead the manufacturing cell in reaching output requirements through the efficient use of provided resources by following documented processes.  Support the key operating principles of Safety, OPEX, our lean journey, continuous improvement of our employee’s, our process, and our product.  Maintain a high standard of Quality in meeting our customer expectations.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   Support all company safety initiatives.  Conduct weekly safety walks, enforce all safety policies, ensure all employees are trained in safe work procedures, submit hazard and spill reports as required.  Support and lead NF OPEX initiatives through both weekly 5S and monthly world class audits, Maintaining the housekeeping checklists and coordination of continues improvement activities.  Maintain the quality output of the cell, facilitate, and lead the self-inspection process, support the management of material through the MRB/NCP review following up on all rejected material from the cell.   Support and lead all quality training and OJT to ensure all required material and tools are available to support first time quality.  Lead the manufacturing cell by coordinating the daily cell meeting with a focus of achieving the goal of 100% build in station, efficiency, and safety requirements. Present the result and corrective action based on the weekly review of the cell metric results. Ensure active participation from the supporting department of Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and the Material group.    Maintain the production schedule through the coordination of both in station and out of station requirement, Scheduling of overtime as required, cross training the employees to always ensure adequate levels of availability. Attend both SWAT and Pre-production meeting, coordinate ECO completion as required.  Manage the cell budget.  Interface with other cells and departments i.e. – Engineering, Quality Assurance, the Material group, and Human Resources to resolve issues affecting the performance of the cell or the condition of the product, all to support build in station requirements.   Daily report out of the condition of the cell, including out of station hour utilizing live bus and the dispatch, unexpected issue and delays, bus move status and recovery plan including overtime as required.    The management of personnel issues, conduct daily Stand-Up Meetings, respond quickly to all employees’ concerns, document and conduct employee reviews on time, maintain employee time and attendance records, conduct discipline meeting as required, maintain a visual vacation schedule in the cell, support training needs and requirements. Interact with the HR dept as required to address employee’s issues as required.  Support the hiring process as required.  Support the administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement – ensure compliance is maintained, understand the Cell Leader role in the grievance process.   Oversee and ensure required training and certifications are established and maintained.   Requirements 3 to 5 years of Supervisory experience in a Manufacturing environment. Must have good people skills.  Must have good oral and written communication skills.  Must be able to monitor and control many different tasks.  Must have medium level computer skills.  Must have a good mechanical aptitude.  Must be able to read blueprints.  Must have a good mechanical aptitude.  Understanding of electrical, diagnostics, motor vehicle, bus commissioning requirements and a background in industrial / automotive paint finishing would be an asset.  Positive individual willing to accept challenges in a fast-paced environment. Our Hamilton Kent ,Toronto Plant is seeking a Night Shift Production Supervisor. The shifts are from Sunday to Thursday nightshift, from 11 pm to 7 am.  This position is responsible for ensuring fabrication, Injection and compression molded parts are of the highest quality while using the most cost effective methods to maximize productivity outputs.  Directly responsible for the supervision of fabrication, Injection and compression molding while verifying procedures, and monitoring costs and assisting Maintenance Manager with purchasing spares. Leads and coordinates production activities directed at continuous improvement.  These activities are to be conducted while ensuring and maximizing safety, product quality, production output, housekeeping and cost control to achieve plant goals.  Requirements Principle Responsibilities •    Manages staff activities to ensure that the products manufactured daily meet quality and budget as set by the daily schedule. •    Identifies performance and quality issues and formulates action plans to rectify problems as variances occur. •    Provides performance measures, which will enable management to identify performance and downtime issues. Relay any significant change or variance to plant management. •    Exchange information with the current lead hands in order to facilitate optimized production performance and to review safety or quality concerns. •    Actively monitors daily production schedule for planning the labour, raw material resources and machine utilization for the fabrication and molding areas. •    Review with Plant Manager and other Supervisor’s the previous day’s performance, identify variances, and determine appropriate action as well as ensuring that the scheduled goals have been met and projected goals will be maintained. •    Ensures customer satisfaction through schedule attainment. •    Implements and ensures staff adheres to plant health, safety and environmental procedures at all times to secure a safe and efficient workplace.  •    Focused on planning smooth operation of the department by ensuring all molding and fabrication requirements are identified at least three days in advance. •    Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to. •    Ensures employees are held accountable and support departments are utilized efficiently and harmoniously. •    Responsible for the fabrication, extrusion and molding departments whilst optimizing the usage of labour and ensuring priorities are followed.  •    Conduct and maintain systematic surveys in compliance with ISMS Element 23.0 Job Task Analysis. Participate in the creation and implementation of action plans. •    Develops and implements Rules and Work Instructions as identified through JTA’s, Accident Investigations and Risk Assessments in compliance with ISMS Elements 23.0 Job Task Analysis and 31.0 Work Instructions. •    Work in conjunction with Production employees on Machinery/Equipment/Tooling improvements which would enhance Safety and Productivity. •    Conducts, and assists others in accident/incident investigations and quality investigations to determine accident/incident cause and cause of quality defects. (Reference ISMS 11.0 and ISO Quality Management System.) •    Assigns direct reports to meet or better daily planned production schedule. Monitors progress during shift and takes corrective action.  Instructs direct reports in most efficient use of machines and tools. Contributes to plant cost reduction effort. •    Ensure that the skill level of all lead hands meets or exceeds the service needs of the company.
