We currently have an exciting opportunityfor a Distribution Center Manager. This role is based in our Toronto DC, and reports to the Director, Supply Chain. Job purpose: The Distribution Center Manager (DCM) is responsible for the management and development of all distribution center operations (including KPIs, Goals & Objectives) and will effectively lead and manage a professional distribution team in continually meeting changing operational demands. The DCM is responsible for the overall performance of the Distribution Centers (DC’s) that they manage as well as ensuring that all Health, Safety and C-TPAT policies are followed. The DCM works in collaboration with other departments to ensure that Hamilton Kent properly responds to the needs of our customers. The DCM will have responsibility and ownership of an operating budget that varies based on the size of the DC’s they manage. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the overall Distribution Center Operations according to the existing safety, service, quality and C-TPAT standards defined by Hamilton Kent Management and execution of workbench software to ensure On-Time Customer Delivery for all out-bound shipments and stock transfers within an SAP-EWM warehouse environment Utilize SAP Tools – Handling Unit management, Wave and RF capabilities to ensure productivity of DC members is effective and efficient Develop, promote, train and manage the different aspects of Health & Safety, as well as Human Resources for all DC operations and team members Manage and develop DC team members in a way that ensures team cohesion and effectiveness in offering prompt and accurate customer service Ensure proper training of all DC team members according to internal standards and provincial/state laws and regulations specific to our industry including monthly safety & employee meetings Develop, implement and execute actions to support department KPIs, Goals & Objectives and related metrics & reports Utilize Continuous Improvement principles to make operations more efficient while improving customer service through the implementation and execution  of Lean Principles, Problem Solving, 5S Programs, Gemba Walks, etc Manage and resolve customer complaints and corrective actions in partnership with Customer Service and Sales Manage inventory accuracy programs through the use of RF technology and cycle counts including planning, managing and participating in the annual physical inventory Assist in the development of the annual operating budget and monitor results monthly thereafter to address variances between budget and actual Coordinate & manage repairs and purchases for the DC in collaboration with the Purchasing Manager and/or Site Maintenance Manager Requirements Community College or University degree in Operations/ Logistics Management/ Customer Service & Sales or equivalent experience Experience with SAP EWM is a must WHIMS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, First Aid Certifications, etc are assets Leadership/mentoring skills, able to train and develop junior reports Intermediate to Sophisticated Level Excel skills required Experience in an RF environment Experience working/managing in a unionized environment is an asset.

Reporting to the Foreman, this position constructs, maintains, and repairs underground electrical distribution systems, working with cables, conduits, and associated equipment like transformers and splicing tools. It will install, troubleshoot, and repair power lines, often working in confined spaces such as trenches and tunnels. JM/Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician
Victor Energy Ltd is a powerline contractor with over 30 years experience building Alberta’s electrical infrastructure, recently acquired by Java Holdings Ltd. Java staff have over 50 years of experience building some of Canada’s largest electrical infrastructure projects. We are seeking qualified Heavy Equipment Technician apprentices. Reporting to the Shop Manager, the Heavy Equipment Technician JM/Apprentice will be responsible for diagnosing and completing repairs required on Victor Energy’s heavy equipment (Excavators, Digger Derrick Booms, Skid Steer, Drive Heads, and Loaders, picker trucks, tracked carriers, semi trucks, automotive and support equipment). Must have the ability to troubleshoot major and minor mechanical problems, as well as to repair and adjust all necessary mechanical components including hydraulic systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that Company equipment is maintained in a good working condition by inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing the fleet in the shop. Getting quotes for parts required for repairs will be necessary at times.
