Moncton Employment & Training Services (METS) is recruiting a Job Developer for its Community Employment Agency located in Moncton, New Brunswick. METS is a non-profit organization that provides a variety of training services to adults with an intellectual disability including employment support. The Community Employment Agency (CEA) is a division of METS providing employment services and support to individuals within southeastern New Brunswick. CEA is also a member of avenueNB, a co-operative representing agencies throughout New Brunswick. avenueNB and its member agencies are funded by Working NB. A drivers license and reliable vehicle is required. Bilingualism is a strong asset. Nature and Scope: The Job Developer creates relationships/partnerships with employers and provides, or links services and supports assisting with inclusive hiring practices, job growth, progression, and retention. The Job Developer needs to understand the local and regional labour markets and identify employment opportunities & trends. • Accessing current labour market information. • Review and confirm resume details, and references. • Create cover letters to match job search parameters of the client. • Conduct job search / job match • Provide Employment services to the individual by connecting and working with employers to determine their labour force needs and developing potential job opportunities that can be accommodated/customized to meet the needs of both the individual and employer. “Job Carving” • Marketing of service and clientele to potential employees. • Provide clients with referrals to employment positions • Complete / assist with the application process • The Job Developer participates in the interview process as needed including accompanying the person to the interview site, attending the interview with the person and informing people of the outcome of the interview if requested by the employer. • Identifying and recommending resources and support to achieve and maintain employment. • Recommend Skill Assessments as needed. • Set up and schedule skill assessment locations as needed • Set up Vocational Assessment locations as needed. • Employer services. The job developer is the point of contact for new and existing employers for questions or concerns. The Job Developer contacts the employer approximately 3-4 weeks after the client’s start date to discuss the individual’s work performance and any other relevant information. Following this contact, the Job Developer will work with the manager to develop an action plan if required. This may include troubleshooting situations which may arise, meetings with the client/employer, or changes in the training procedures • The Job Developer is the contact person for employed clients to request service support. (Help, advice, questions or concerns) • Refer clients for Interview Preparation sessions when appropriate. • Refer clients for Skill Enhancement sessions when appropriate. • Aid in conducting monitoring services for employed clients. • Attending Networking and professional development events. • Attending and/or supporting individuals during job fairs. • Responsible for completing and maintaining client reports as per CEA contract. • May need to provide job coach support temporarily, as needed. • Other responsibilities as needed. Qualifications: Post-Secondary Diploma/Certificate in a related discipline (social science, education, or counselling) and counseling related work experience for a total of 5 years combined., Bachelor of Arts, Social Science, Education or Counseling and one year of counseling related work experience.
