Position: Sales Associate Reports to: Retail Manager We are looking for a Sales Associate to join our Retail team. Our Sales Associate will assist with the day-to-day sales related activities and provide support to the Retail Manager and team. Opportunities The Sales Associate works in a fast-paced, retail environment selling organic, vegan, natural food, and bread products. This position would suit someone who is passionate about health and lives and breathes a healthy lifestyle. The ideal candidate would be comfortable in a conservative, traditional healthy food store and would need a strong understanding of Health, Vegan and Organic foods. You enjoy performing tasks that require a lot of relationship building and customer interactions Key Responsibilities Provide great customer service in person and over the phone Answer customer questions, asking appropriate questions to determine the customer's needs, up selling when appropriate Working at the til; handling cash and credit sales Actively demo store products; preparing demo's according to Food Safe standards Filling store shelves, coolers and freezer with products; using the correct rotational system Stocking and re-stocking shelves with retail products Cleaning the Cafe and Retail Store at closing and throughout the day Ensuring garbage and recycling is taken out when full Ensuring the cleanliness of the bathrooms Must be flexible to work all store shifts Must be service oriented Have good supervisory skills Excellent communication skills Good temperament Computer skills (Microsoft, Excel). Knowledge of natural foods, vegetarian and vegan lifestyle preferred Knowledge of health and healthy lifestyle Skills & Experience Previous retail sales experience in the food industry is an asset Must have excellent communication skills; fully proficient in English Flexibility with schedule changes and shift times ABle to lift 25 kg Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task Attention to detail and problem solving skills Benefits Employee Discounts On-site Parking Hourly rate $17.64
