Help Co-Facilitate a Community Wellness Experience: Breathe. Connect. Create. An interactive outdoor mental health and wellness program designed to bring people together through creativity, knowledge-sharing, meaningful conversation, and connection with nature. Participants are invited to co-facilitate the program by sharing something meaningful with the group. This could include: A skill or knowledge you would like to pass on Poetry, creative writing, or storytelling Personal experience or reflection Mental health or wellness resource An educational presentation or public talk A wellness technique or activity Any other contribution connected to the theme of mental health and well-being The format remains participatory and inclusive. We will gather in a designated area and provide any member who wishes to participate with an opportunity to share. Members can speak, listen, learn, reflect, and support one another in a respectful safe and welcoming environment. Teamwork, Exploration & Community: As part of the day, Social Innovation Project (SIP) will facilitate a fun, team-based park exploration challenge in our picnic area near the washrooms. Working together, members will take on a series of verbal prompts designed to encourage teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and community connection. And, of course, there will be a great prize for the winning contestant! Food, Music & Community: The afternoon will include: Healthy food and beverages (no junk food or pop) Music, opportunities to socialize Picnic-style community gathering, nearby the washrooms Games; Catch/baseball, lawn bowling (bocce), tennis, dominoes Microphone and speaker equipment for public speaking and presentations Photo-shoots and video documentation Celebrating Participation & Leadership: At event closing, we want to recognize participants who contributed meaningfully to the experience. An honorarium will be provided to the participants who demonstrate exceptional synergy, collaboration, and contribution throughout the day. The recipients will be selected through a group vote, allowing us, the membership itself, to recognize the individuals who best embody the spirit of the program. Transportation Support: SIP will provide transportation support through a bus rental. Transportation to and from Thomson Memorial Park can be arranged for participants who require a ride. Documenting our Contribution: Photography and video will take place throughout the program, with appropriate consent from participants. Participants will also have the opportunity to receive: Professional Reference Letters Certificates of Participation and Contribution Portfolio material reflecting involvement and co-facilitation experience These materials can help demonstrate community engagement, collaboration, public speaking, and facilitation experience for future professional opportunities.
