Mentored by private teachers and professors. -Preparation for RCM exams, including theory, as well as university prep. I offer lessons to beginner, intermediate, and advanced violinists. I have experience in teaching students from 3 to 64 years of age, from beginner to advanced levels, as well as group classes. I believe that music is a healing force. As the student grows, so does their relationship to the world around them. Having the opportunity to study music as one grows is incredibly special. It becomes a place of experimentation of one's own bravery, confidence, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, expression, and compassion. I focus on encouraging students' curiosity, experimentation, while maintaining that the students develops ease and comfort in their playing and expression. I like to start students off with Suzuki Violin School method and incorporate pieces from the Royal Concervatory of Music as the skill level develops. I am also a large proponent of incorporating scales, arpeggios, etudes, and specific technical exercises, tailored specifically to the students’ needs. My approach varies slightly from student to student, based on the students' needs/age. I always try to relate to the student and use analogies to help them understand and enjoy the learning process. I balance incorporating music theory, history, and ear training in the lesson. The modes of delivery often include playing demonstrations, singing, drawing, listening to music, writing, and dancing. I strive to provide a safe and positive atmosphere in lessons. I am passionate about what I do, and I love sharing my love and wonder for music with my students. $70/hour. I am able to drive to your home for extra $5. Trial lesson (30 min) is free!
