7For the first time, I've worked over a Gibson Les Paul copy. I ordered this guitar from Temu (China), but it's sold in Canada, so it's all legal. Initially, I was drawn to the EMG pickups, but, like the rest of the hardware, they were just okay. I replaced the bridge pickup with a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates Plus humbucker and a Gibson (either 500T or 498T, drawing 12.5 kOhms) at the neck. The sound is now what an LP should be! The hardware was mediocre, so I replaced the tuners with new Guyker Locking Tuners ($75) and all four scratchy pots with Gibson pots to match the new pickups. The neck was almost unplayable, so I spent over 10 hours adjusting the truss rod, filling the nut, and fine-tuning the intonation and string height. I also put on new strings and set it up to perfection. This isn't a real Gibson LP, but this copy plays and sounds amazing – a real value! I guarantee you won't find an instrument like this for this price. I've been playing guitar for over 60 years, and I've never seen such quality for the money. Here's what I've replaced: * Tuners (6) * Pickups (2) * Potentiometers (Pots) (4) I'm so confident in this guitar that I offer a three-day return guarantee. Buy it, try it for three days, and return it in its original condition for a full refund. I'm asking $700. I've spent $600 on it (tuners, pots, hardware). Please don't insult me with offers under $700. Amateur Luthier Pierre (Pete) Burelle Alexandria 613-330-5222
