We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Engineering Technologist, PSE, or Engineer to join our field services team on a full time basis. This role will be based in Puerto Rico at our client site. Responsibilities: Testing and commissioning of MV/HV power system protection & control schemes in the utility, power generation, and oil & gas industry. Read and interpret drawings and troubleshoot / resolve technical issues. Train/develop employees to ensure highest performance standards are met. Report preparation and submission. Assist with generation of commissioning startup procedures or work instructions. Ensure compliance with all safety practices as per corporate, client, and industry standards. Initiate and/or respond to customer inquiries, discuss trouble details and confirm resolutions. Qualifications: The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Electrician Journeyman Ticket, or an Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma from a recognized institute. Eligible for registration with APEGGA , ASET, or similar. Comprehensive understanding of key principles of electrical power system protection and controls including SCADA, relay protection, metering, equipment functionals, and telecom networks. Minimum 5+ years of proven experience in the medium voltage and/or high voltage utility substations and power generation industry with experience in a supervisory role leading and running projects in greenfield and brownfield substations. Relay testing of microprocessor-based protection IED’s (SEL, ABB, Siemens, GE, etc.) with fully automated test equipment (Omicron CMC356) and test data management. Experienced in high voltage primary equipment testing and commissioning involving power transformers, reactors, circuit breakers, CT’s, PT’s, surge arrestors, disconnect switches, cap and reactor Banks, etc. Testing and commissioning as per NETA/IEEE/IEC standards. Strong understanding of CSA Z462 safety standards. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an extreme attention to detail are essential. Knowledge of the Microsoft office software suite of programs coupled with strong computer skills. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a wide variety of issues simultaneously. Strong analytical, risk assessment and problem solving skills. NETA Testing Certification an asset. Background checks and Drug and Alcohol Pre-Access Testing will be required as part of employment. Additional Information: Typical shifts are (but not limited to) 28 on, 14 off for this project. Working hours are generally from 7am - 5:30pm at 10hrs/day. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Telecom Design Engineer to join our Calgary engineering team. As a Telecom Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the infrastructure for HFC networks. This includes planning and designing HFC networks, conducting surveys of existing infrastructure, coordinating with internal teams and external contractors, and maintaining accurate records of network infrastructure and equipment. You will be leading a team of designers and expected to mentor and coach team members through standards and best practices. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Electrical/Substation Engineer to join our engineering team on a full time basis. We offer a dynamic work environment with an extremely experienced technical team, where you will be continuously challenged in all aspects of the engineering and design process. Responsibilities: Complete and authenticate outdoor substation design packages for ampacity diagram, layouts, plot plans, bus elevations, ground grid, equipment/structure grounding details, control & power cable layouts, control building electrical design, for voltage levels ranging from 25kV to 240kV. Interface with other engineering disciplines to ensure overall design conformance is accomplished. Complete calculations and studies to support the design, including grounding, lightning, lighting, AC/DC Load Studies, station service transformer and battery bank sizing, insulation coordination, and rigid bus study. Complete MV cable ampacity calculations with CYMCAP. Develop equipment and apparatus specifications suitable for project application. Review vendor documentation and drawings to ensure constructability, operability, and compliance with equipment specifications and design. Develop and maintain bill of materials for substation outdoor installation. Review engineered outputs to ensure compliance with project defined scopes and client requirements. Provide site construction and commissioning support when needed. Collect, interpret, and organize project engineering and vendor data. Interface with senior personnel to resolve potential technical and project issues. Provide mentoring guidance and direction to junior members of the team. Assist in compiling and maintaining internal engineering standards and work practices. Qualifications: The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institute. Eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGA). 6 - 10 years’ experience in electrical substation design. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an extreme attention to detail are essential. Solid base knowledge of electrical theory and mathematics. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a wide variety of issues simultaneously. Strong analytical, risk assessment and problem solving skills. Working knowledge of relevant Canadian, Ontario and Alberta codes and standards (CEC, CSA, AEUC, OESC etc.) would be advantageous. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Engineering Technologist, PSE, or Engineer to join our field services team on a full time basis. Responsibilities: Manage and lead a commissioning crew of workers. Testing and commissioning of MV/HV power system protection & control schemes in the utility, power generation, and oil & gas industry. Read and interpret drawings and troubleshoot / resolve technical issues. Train/develop employees to ensure highest performance standards are met. Report preparation and submission. Assist with generation of commissioning startup procedures or work instructions. Ensure compliance with all safety practices as per corporate, client, and industry standards. Experienced in high voltage primary equipment testing and commissioning involving power transformers, reactors, circuit breakers, CT’s, PT’s, surge arrestors, disconnect switches, cap and reactor Banks, etc. Testing and commissioning as per NETA/IEEE/IEC standards. Strong understanding of CSA Z462 safety standards. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an extreme attention to detail are essential. Knowledge of the Microsoft office software suite of programs coupled with strong computer skills. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a wide variety of issues simultaneously.
