2001 dream machine. (Grand Caravan)
Description
Picture this......mom, mom, mom, mummy, momma, or dad, dad, dad, dadda dadda... The voices cry from the back. 6 kids including your own children....hold on....imagine you and 6 of your closest friends, maybe on a road trip to Calgary or jasper..... the wind in your hair with the windows down. The sound of your favorite cassette or compact disc playing through this premium 2001 sound system almost as vintage as the medium the music plays from. That is your life in your new to you caravan. Whether you just need to goto the grocery store, school, or the park. Maybe golfing, hockey or volleyball... this van can handle it. I know ow what your thinking.....sounds to good to be true.....but act now and ill include some spare parts I have for the van I never got around to installing. Sway bar bushings a/c lines and seals. And probably more once I look. Oh thats not enough you say.... how about the ability to carry 4 x 8 sheets of plywood or drywall..... imagine how many basements you could finish hauling these in your new car.. Pros, its a grand caravan sport from 2001 its luxurious cloth interior sports a rear bench which is reclinable or folding. Two middle captains chairs one of which has an internal car seat. Cassette and cd changer. Only 200000 kms pretty low for a 2001. An added center console. Led headlights with like new ish headlight housings. The ability to walk into pick n pull and have access to thousands of cheap parts which are always available due to the abundance of these vehicles sold in canada. The ability to be the family/friend taxi. The windows work (see the cons section it will make sense.) It isnt terrible on fuel if thats your thing gets about 700km to a tank if I remember right. Cons, A/C has a leak so currently doesn't work. I did however recharge it last year and it will work once it is repaired. Sway bar bushings are worn (new ones in the center console). Needs an oil change which if I continue to drive it i may do. If not I have the oil filter for it. You can have it. It has patina which some people call rust, i call it character from all the many miles of enjoyment it has provided. Has an automatic sliding door on the passenger side which is more of a fair weather door. Works great above 0⁰c becomes a manual door in the colder months. May need front brakes, i may have them in the garage just not sure. I've had this unicorn in my stable now for a few years and when she first arrived she needed some work. So in the last few years it did get 4 new struts, changed the swaybar links and bushings, i changed the front and rear brakes and has had the oil changed every 5000km. I did change the transmission oil when I first got it. This was a few years ago now and just shy of 100000 km of driving ish. But thats what I have done. It has served its purpose for me and now it is time to let her spread her wings and fly. If you have any questions let me know.
