You can trust us to get the job every time. Summary The role of the Appraiser/Estimator is to provide a detailed estimate to repair a vehicle post collision. The estimator is responsible to many stakeholders. The estimator must have a professional demeanor to work with customers, insurers, vendors, and other team members of the repair facility. The estimator must instill confidence in the customer and proved clear expectations. The estimator must understand the effect of collision to a vehicle and highlight damages. The detailed estimate must include factory-researched repair specifications and adhere to shop policies and insurer guidelines where applicable.   Primary Objectives of the role Set reasonable expectations for customers and educate them about the repair process. Have a thorough understanding of estimating software, as it is essential for processing estimates. Locate assignments from insurers and understand the requirements. Familiarize yourself with assignment terms, such as LOU (Loss of Use), WP (With Prejudice), 43 endorsement, betterment, and deductible. Inspect vehicles throughout the repair process to ensure quality control and that all repairs meet client, insurance, and OEM standards. Gather any additional information that may be required from the insured. Review the vehicle with the customer to highlight damage related to the accident, as well as any non-claim-related previous damage. Photograph vehicle damages according to shop policy and insurer requirements, ensuring that the photos are high quality. Determine whether a vehicle is drivable or non-drivable. Assess if a vehicle requires disassembly for an accurate estimate. Write detailed estimates that capture all claim-related damage and research repairs to ensure compliance with OEM standards and procedures. Control costs for the insurer by selecting repair options first where possible and safe, and then sourcing parts effectively according to guidelines and shop policies. Quote sublets as needed. Ensure that proper dates are recorded in the estimating systems in real-time. Select the correct rate profiles in the system. Communicate effectively by updating both the insurer and the customer on important claim details, such as vehicle scheduling or any delays. Choose the appropriate parts for the repair and confirm model/trim level, price, and availability. Schedule sublets as required. Ensure that all invoices (for parts, sublets, rental, towing) are added to the file according to insurer guidelines, and track them using the management system for ease of tracking. Maintain accurate estimates throughout the repair process by accounting for supplements, part price changes, and any necessary communications to the insurer. Upload and monitor claims for approval. Aim to sell customer pay/third-party pay estimates with a goal of maintaining a batting average of 80% or higher. Send final supplements and bills to the insurer for approval within 48 hours post-delivery, whenever possible. Ensure that final authorizations are noted in the management system and that final amounts match for proper file closure. Conduct quality control to ensure that the final product is ready for delivery to the customer. Deliver the vehicle to the customer and explain the repairs as needed. Requirements Up to date Compliance Training, such as AODA, WHMIS, Worker Health and safety Awareness and Workplace Violence and Harassment) and knowledge of Information Security PIPEDA Utilize Mitchell Connect and Audatex software. Any other software, please add all that may be applicable. At least 3 to 5 years of experience working as a Collision Estimator At least 5 years’ experience with Mitchell Connect and Audatex at a proficiency level. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications. Valid Class 5 Driver's License Knowledgeable and be up to date in various Insurance “DRP” practices/guidelines. Our Auto Body Technician must be able to take a vehicle in a damaged state and repair or restore damaged vehicles to their original structural integrity, function, and appearance. The Incumbent is detailed oriented and can multitask to accommodate shifting priorities.   Primary Objectives of the Auto Body (Collision Repair) Technician: Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed Thoroughly examine collision damage (Review the complete vehicle exterior body parts, check all power accessories (door locks/windows/mirrors are operational) check that the dash panel has no warning lights on. Identify any prior damages overlooked on the QA checklist/ or related on the supplemental damage sheet.) Performing structural and complete body repairs: Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components. (Assess, Repair or Replace interior and exterior parts, electrical components, and vehicle accessories, doors and frame and underbody components) Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment, Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers. Welding on vehicles with the use of MIG welders and compression spot welders. Fully dismantle the complete vehicle damaged areas including the blend panel parts in order to identify all hidden damages as early in the repair cycle as possible. For example remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place, repair or replace damaged windows, windshields and sunroof Ability to file, grind and sand repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting, apply primers and repaint surfaces.  Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams Restore vehicle to factory specification (Return the vehicle back to factory/OEM specifications) Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling Technician must be able to read and understand the estimates. Capable of reading and comprehending automotive repair procedures. Able to work with a variety of metals and plastics, as well as glass, electrical, and mechanical parts. Experience using frame and measuring equipment. Experience with disassembly and reassembly of vehicles Ability and willingness to follow standardized production processes. Be a great CSN ambassador. Perform other duties as assigned by management. This role requires knowledge of electric vehicle (EV) structures and repair techniques or a willingness to undergo training. Primary Objectives of the Role: Conduct structural and non-structural repairs on Tesla vehicles using factory-approved procedures. Organization Overview Durham Community Health Centre (DCHC) is a registered, charitable organization that provides integrated, accessible, and equitable community based primary care, wellness services, and health education to Durham community members who face multiple barriers to their health and well-being. DCHC also provides equity-based programs and services that focus on priority populations such as Indigenous, Black, the 2SLGBTQI Community, Newcomers to Canada, Seniors, and Unattached patients (i.e., those without a family doctor), to name a few. At DCHC, we are a team-based interprofessional group of staff including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, counselors, dietitians, outreach workers, medical secretaries, and other administrative staff. Durham Community Health Centre has been selected as the lead agency for the new Homeless Addiction Recovery Treatment (HART) Hub in the Durham region. This innovative hub will provide life-changing services for individuals struggling with addiction and mental health challenges, helping them regain stability and rebuild their futures. The Hart Hub is a 24/7 operation, providing continuous support to the community. Position Overview Working as a part of the interprofessional care team, the Registered Practical Nurse (HART Hub) will deliver comprehensive care to DCHC clients, utilizing an understanding of the social determinants of health. The RPN will prioritize the health needs of DCHC’s priority populations, with a primary focus on delivering client-centered care and addiction-focused health services to individuals experiencing homelessness and/or substance use challenges in the community. The RPN will engage both internally and externally to assess population health needs and enhance well-being through targeted assessment, treatment, and prevention strategies aimed at reducing health inequities. Employment Status: Permanent Part-time (0.5 FTE) - 1 Position Position Status: This is a Bargaining Unit position. All terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement apply. Hours of Work Schedule: 17.5 hours per week, evenings and weekends may be required. Prioritize client-centered care for DCHC’s priority populations, including the homeless population and individuals recovering from addiction. Complete timely and accurate medical records of client encounters, documentation, and third party correspondence using DCHC’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Contribute to activities related to the development, implementation, and evaluation of medical directives, policies and procedures, best practices, and protocols. Adhere to and promote evidence-based practices and standards of best practice in keeping with DCHC clinic operational guidelines. Actively participate in case conferences when required. Participate in chart audits, development, and implementation of Quality Improvement Plans (QIP), and accreditation activities with the Canadian Centre for Accreditation (CCA). Demonstrate active participation in the CNO Quality Assurance (QA) Program to ensure the maintenance of continuing competence to practice and with DCHC’s performance management requirements. Participate in agency training activities and meetings as requested. Provide clinical supervision and training for nursing students when applicable. Ensure client care and caseload are managed to achieve the goals of DCHC’s Multi-Sector Service Accountability Agreement (MSAA). Key Qualifications Practical Nursing Diploma Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). Membership in the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario is an asset. Experience providing care to individuals facing homelessness, substance use, or complex health and social challenges. Phlebotomy certification is an asset. Minimum of two years of experience working as a primary care RPN with clients with complex needs preferred. Experience in a Community Health Centre (CHC) setting or other community health practice, preferred. Experience working with communities and individuals facing barriers to accessing healthcare services preferred. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and respectfully in a collaborative, inter-professional team environment. Ability to communicate with clients in an easily understandable manner, practicing active listening to understand client needs and coaching clients as collaborative partners in their healthcare. Excellent written communication skills, including report writing for a clinical setting. • Basic CPR certification required.
