As summer continues, we're excited to create a place where children can feel safe, encouraged & surrounded by faith, friendship & fun. Hi, I'm Chaenel, founder of Anchored Hearts. I believe there is something truly special about knowing your child is cared for, supported & able to grow in a positive environment. Anchored Hearts is a Christ-centered summer day camp for children ages 5–11, featuring creative activities, movement, heart check-ins, games & faith-based moments designed to help children grow in confidence & love. Meet Chaenel Founder of Anchored Hearts With over 15 years of experience working with children, I’ve had the privilege of serving in youth programs, including youth violence prevention initiatives like WAYVE (Working Against Youth Violence Everywhere) , volunteering at Waterloo Regional Police Service, church camps, daycares & even as a personal nanny/nanny assistant countless times. Growing up I was a part of Youth Equity Leadership Camp, was a nominee for KYAC Youth Award for Change the World, received the YMCA Peace Medallion & Strong Kid peace Medallion from The House of Commons. I’ve also created my own children’s programs & have seen the impact that encouragement, creativity & positive guidance can have on the growing generation. I believe every child has unique gifts & abilities waiting to be nurtured. My own journey through music (singer), art, dance & writing has shown me the power of creativity & confidence & I’m grateful to God for allowing me to use those gifts to worship Him. I’m excited to bring those same creative opportunities into Anchored Hearts, helping children express themselves, build confidence & deepen their connection to faith. I hold current CPR/AED certification, Plan to Protect training & maintain a clear background check. Above all, I am passionate about creating a safe, joyful & Christ-centered space where children can grow in faith, creativity, confidence & love—guided by God’s Word & surrounded by care.
