Can I ask for your opinion?
Description
Hi. I just have to ask for some opinions from others as I am not sure if I am being a bad person or the other parties are just not participating. All my life I have been seeking to become an entrepreneur. I started a car wash in my parents driveway at 10. I owned a car wash business at 19. I've been constantly seeking support from my mother, friends, and family, but it doesn't feel like anyone gives a hoot. Facts. 1. My mom wouldn't browse the websites I created when I started a design business and did some websites for local businesses. She uses the Internet everyday and is very proficient at using it. 2. She didn't mention my computer business to anyone or even like my Facebook page until 1 year after pestering her to do it. 3. When I owned a car wash at 19, she only came once to see me there, my dad did frequently. 4. When I asked my mom why she wasn't supporting my entrepreneurial ventures, she said " I didn't know what entrepreneurial meant". 5. My family lived a block away from my cafe. Two of them didn't even work, but they didn't come see my store once. I was working FT and running a business, or I would've delivered them something. 6. I asked my mom if I could help her do some running around ( I was disabled at this time), my mom had a PSW helping her with groceries and stuff. I had a car and could drive her around instead, since the PSW is expensive, but my mom told me that the PSWs husband recently lost his job and they were in financial trouble so she wanted to help them out. I had to declare bankruptcy and was on disability after working FT and running a business, so I was in a financial pickle as well. There are many more examples, but when I confront anyone with my feelings about these issues (politely), I am the liar, the bad person, the accuser. I've always tried to be a straight up person. I don't cheat, lie, scheme, or act a fool. I just want to feel like the experience of my life's journeys has earned me some acknowledgement from my family and friends. I do believe the George Constanza theory is correct. Short bald men are not taken as seriously as a tall dark handsome man. Even if the short bald man has more skills and knowledge, or has Jeff Bezos money. I have a deep understanding of the world we live in. People are more selfish than ever before. Aren't we supposed to help each other through that as family and friends? Let me know your thoughts. Thank you for taking the time.
