Machinist - Evening

CNC MACHINIST - Gantry Machine - Evening Shift Role and purpose of the position: The role of the CNC machinist is to produce simple and complex parts (5-axis) using computer numerical control machines. The CNC machinist ensures product quality by performing regular measurements on parts and adhering to specified tolerances. Functions and responsibilities: Perform necessary adjustments, setups, and repairs for the manufacturing of simple to complex parts (fixtures, parts, tools, etc.) Use all systems required for equipment operation: probing, laser, XMII, CNC program transfers, etc. Follow machining instructions and complete all required documentation: process sheets, MOS, MIS, Tool life, etc. Ensure proper functioning of cutting tools Read and interpret drawings Calculate dimensions and tolerances Actively participate in problem-solving, daily team meetings, and activities related to new product and tool development Perform tasks related to the TPM maintenance plan and 6S Perform deburring and inspection of parts, or any other related operational tasks Maintain continuity between shifts through documentation and communication of actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs Requirements: DEC in Mechanical Engineering/DEP in Machining Technology or equivalent 1 to 3 years of experience as a general CNC machinist Good knowledge of French, both spoken and written Solid knowledge and use of tools in the field Basic understanding of CNC machining Judgment skills: identify problems and resolve them Listening skills: understand and follow instructions, request clarification when needed Initiative: address problems independently, seek new responsibilities, and improve personal skills Promote health, safety, and environmental rules in the workplace Ability to work in a team Demonstrate initiative; seek new responsibilities and improve personal abilities Flexibility and versatility Benefits: Group insurance (medical, dental, vision, paramedical care, life insurance, long-term disability, health spending account) Sick leave Virtual healthcare for employee and immediate family Employee and family assistance program Pension plan with employer contribution Vacation 40-hour work week, 10 hours per day, Monday to Thursday from 3:30 PM to 1:30 AM Additional shift premium, if applicable Annual time banking option Paid holidays during the holiday season according to the annual calendar Birthday gift on employee's birthday Employee referral program Annual allowance allocated for physical activities Provided uniforms and safety equipment Healthy snacks Recognition for years of service Outdoor terrace for meal breaks Skill development focused programs Accessible by public transportation On-site parking Free access to electric vehicle charging stations Various social activities
