Job Description: Liberty is seeking a Claims Analyst to join our Claims team in Montreal. Reporting to a supervisor, the Claims Analyst will be responsible for handling physical damage automobile claims, third-party property damage claims, and minor to moderate general liability claims. Duties and Responsibilities: Process claims in accordance with Liberty Mutual Canada guidelines and specific account servicing instructions (if applicable) Manage and process primarily Quebec claims, with occasional handling of claims from other provinces. Investigate claims to determine coverage, assess value, establish a settlement plan, and adjust claims to resolution. When necessary, engage independent experts to assist in claim investigation and resolution, while maintaining ownership and accountability for timelines and outcomes. Within prescribed settlement authority, establish appropriate indemnity and expense reserves and review them regularly to ensure adequacy. Review reports from all external sources and issue payments in accordance with guidelines. Maintain claim file logs according to claims guidelines. Keep detailed file notes with updates on new information and complete 90-day settlement plans. Ensure statistical fields are completed and updated as required. Regularly provide claims statistics information to the underwriting department for each account. Provide support and assistance to underwriting and risk management departments as needed. Advise management on losses exceeding authority levels. Other assigned tasks. Skills and Qualifications: Advanced proficiency in English and French (spoken and written). Possession of a claims adjuster license issued by AMF. Post-secondary diploma or equivalent professional experience. 1 to 3 years of relevant experience; exposure to automobile lines would be an asset. Knowledge of insurance law and insurance regulations across various provincial jurisdictions. Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills (oral and written). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Strong customer service orientation. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
