ASL Practice Group for Adults
Description
My name is Carla Klassen and I am an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter. I facilitate a monthly practice group for adults wanting to better their skills in ASL. This group is for everyone! From beginners to expert signers. If you don't know ASL but are interested in trying it out, join us. This group is FREE to attend, and no registration is required. Simply come if you can. If you need to show up late or leave early, no problem! This group is a welcoming and casual meeting where we aim to help each other become better signers in a safe environment. Every month we practice different skills and learn new vocabulary through a variety of activities. Any materials that may be needed are provided at no cost. Our next get together will be on Thursday, Aug. 3rd, from 5:30-7:00pm at Western Redi Mix (131 105 Street East, Saskatoon). We will discuss various topics related to the interpreting field, like how do interpreters prepare for a job, how are they booked, how do they decide where to set up, what does a teaming set up look like and why are there 2 or three booked for one job.......... and more. I invite you to join us to meet other ASL enthusiasts and practice your sign language skills. If you have any questions, please reply to this ad. I hope you can join us!
