Introduction to the Electric Unicycle (Gyrowheel)

Description

I offer a very simple introduction to the electric unicycle (or gyrowheel) for ages 7 to 77. Electric unicycle for beginners—ideal for children and teenagers. Easier and faster to learn than a bicycle, the electric unicycle is extremely safe because, unlike a bicycle, you don’t fall—you’re supported by the wheel itself, which takes the fall instead of you. My 8-year-old daughter learned it and rides it regularly. No need for exceptional balance or physical fitness—anyone can ride it, just like a bicycle. The sensation is similar to alpine skiing, except you’re riding on a wheel. I am an alpine ski instructor and patroller on a well-known mountain in the Estrie region, and I have extensive experience working with children and teenagers. I only ask that you wear a helmet. The rate is $25 per hour, with a minimum of 2 hours: 15 minutes of theory and the remainder practical. Additional time may be extended upon request. Meetings are available in the Bromont, Granby, Cowansville, Waterloo, Magog areas—or anywhere in the Estrie or Montérégie regions, subject to my travel fees. P.S.: In Quebec, most gyrowheel enthusiasts generally favor speed and large, expensive, bulky wheels; however, I prefer smaller wheels because I practice "freestyle"—I take my wheel onto pump tracks, so I can also show you how to ride on one foot or perform other circus-style tricks!
