Financial Analyst

We are looking for a Financial Analyst on behalf of our partner, a major aerospace, commercial and industrial transportation company located in Laval. The incumbent is primarily responsible for the following financial aspects: financial analysis, the monthly closing process, and financial reporting for the Laval and Georgetown plants. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Accounting: Perform the monthly closing process. Supervise the preparation of the annual plant budget, including follow-up with managers. Submit financial and non-financial data on a regular basis. Ensure the proper functioning of internal controls and compliance with U.S. SOX 404 (Sarbanes-Oxley) legislation. Analyze balance sheet accounts in collaboration with Shared Services and the business unit located in the United States. Monitor capital expenditures and verify the financial aspects of plant investments. Implement cost reduction initiatives for major departments. Values & Ethics: Avoid conflicts of interest. Continuously seek feedback from internal and external customers. Personally take responsibility for ensuring the quality of products and services offered. Wear required protective equipment. Follow all safety rules. Report potential safety hazards, unsafe behaviors, and all accidents according to company procedures. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration. 5 to 10 years of experience in finance/accounting related to the position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Preferred Qualifications A professional accounting designation is an asset. Experience in cost accounting is highly desirable. Experience in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
