Music Workshop for Adults: Understanding Chords

Have you ever wanted to understand why chords work the way they do instead of just memorizing where to put your hands? Do you want to be able to name a chord that you’ve just played? Do you want to understand the relationship between chords, scales, and key signatures? Come learn these things and more at the Understanding Chords workshop! Co-taught by two professional musicians, this four hour workshop will teach you to develop a comfort level with chords. You will learn how chords are built, named, and modified. The workshop is open to all musicians aged eighteen and up, and will include group instruction, demonstration, and time to practice your skills. By the end of this workshop you will have a deeper understanding of chords. You will have developed your ability to build chords from chord symbols, and to name chords that you’ve played.
