Hi! My name is Amer, and I tutor math for students in Grades 1–12. Whether your child needs help keeping up in class, preparing for a test, or building confidence in math, I’m happy to help. I’ve studied mechanical engineering, have a degree in economics, and am now studying statistics for sociology at the master’s level. I bring that background into lessons so students can see how math actually gets used. I don’t just teach “apply this formula.” I want students to understand why it works, usually through a concrete example first. Once that clicks, the formula stops feeling random. I’ve tutored part-time for over 10 years and taught professionally full-time for five. I’m fully bilingual, so lessons can be in English or French. Lessons are online. I write on an iPad with an Apple Pencil and share my screen, so students can follow each step in real time. They also work through exercises with my guidance, rather than just watching me solve them. The first lesson is free. We use it to get to know each other, discuss your child’s goals, and see where they need support. After that, lessons are $35 per hour.
