A: I mainly teach undergraduate and graduate economics, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, statistics for economics, mathematical economics, and field courses such as taxation, labour economics, health economics, development economics, public economics, environmental economics, financial economics, and international economics. Q: Are you familiar with McMaster economics courses? A: Yes. I can help with many McMaster ECON courses, including ECON 1B03, 1BB3, 2Z03, 2ZZ3, 2H03, 2HH3, 2B03, 3E03, 3EE3, and many upper-year field courses. It was in 2021 that I taught an McMaster micro course for the first time. Q: You said you have many years of tutoring experience. Why have we not heard of you before? A: In the past, this service was mainly provided to Ottawa and Toronto university students. Later, I decided to extend the service to all Canadian university students. Q: How much do you charge? A: The price depends on the course, the difficulty of the material, the amount of preparation required, and the timing. Group sessions are usually cheaper per student. Please email me your course information first, and I will give you a clear quote. Q: How long will it take you to decide whether you can accept my case? A: Usually very quickly. Once I receive your course code, syllabus, lecture notes, assignment, or exam topics, I can usually decide within 5 to 10 minutes whether I can help. Q: Besides micro and macro, do you teach field courses? A: Yes. I teach many field courses, including taxation, labour economics, development economics, health economics, public economics, environmental economics, financial economics, European economic integration, and international economics. Q: Are you good at econometrics? A: Yes. Econometrics is one of my strongest areas. I can help with regression, hypothesis testing, interpretation of results, applied econometrics, and software-based empirical work. Q: What kind of service do you provide? A: I provide help with assignments, papers, lecture review, exam preparation, problem sets, statistics, econometrics, and general course understanding. Q: Can I bring my friends to the tutorial? A: Yes. Small group tutorials are welcome. The larger the study group, the lower the price per student will usually be. Q: Do you have a master’s degree? A: Yes. I have a master’s degree and many years of PhD-level research experience. Q: Have you ever been a TA? A: Yes. I have worked as a TA for many years in different economics-related courses. Q: Can we meet at my home? A: No. Online tutoring is available and zoom is very convenient. Q: Do you have a website? A: No. To keep costs low, I do not run a website. This helps keep the tutoring fee more affordable for students. Q: Do you teach all day? A: No. Good economics tutoring requires a lot of concentration and preparation, so I only accept a limited number of students each term. Q: Can you write an exam for me ? A: No. I can help you understand the material, prepare for exams, and improve your own work. Q: How long does each tutorial usually last? A: A typical session is around two or three hours, depending on the course and the student’s needs. We will take a ten minutes break after one or one and a half hour. Q: If we finish in one or two hours, how much do I pay? A: For scheduled long sessions, the minimum payment is normally based on the agreed session length. This will be discussed clearly before the appointment. Q: What happens if I book a session and do not show up? A: Please give advance notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Missed appointments without notice may affect whether future sessions can be arranged. Q: Besides cash, do you accept Interac e-Transfer? A: Yes. Interac e-Transfer is accepted. Q: Besides economics and mathematics, do you teach other courses? A: I do not teach physics or chemistry. Occasionally, I may help with philosophy, art, politics, media research, Roman history or European history, depending on the topic. Q: I am outside Hamilton or outside Canada. Can you still help me? A: Yes. Online tutoring is available. For Canadian students, Interac e-Transfer is preferred. If you have more questions, feel free to contact me by email: economics@bell.net
